TIME TO COMPLETION

Within 6 months, National Sign Plazas staff redesigned the signage, created a new placement and mapping plan, developed a phasing schedule, and built and installed (141) individual signs.

BREATHING LIFE INTO A NEW SYSTEM

Three years prior to working with NSP, the cities of Bryan and College Station contracted with a design team to create a multi-city wayfinding system that incorporated historic downtowns, tourist destinations, and renowned Texas A&M University.  When “complete,” the Cities had their sign design and location details, but there was no plan in place to transition into the fabrication and installation of the program. National Sign Plazas was brought in to update and value-engineer existing designs, phase the project, manage their budgets, and work with Texas Department of Transportation to gain program approval.

The first program phase was completed six months after RFP award. Phase two and three are currently underway. The entire wayfinding program spans across the Cities of Bryan, College Station, and Texas A&M University highlighting parks, sports complexes, and historic venues. It is made up of (6) different sign types covering large extruded freeway signs, parking, and pedestrian directional signs. There are more than (140) individual locations – (122) of which reside in TXDOT right-of-way.
