National Sign Plazas to Offer Cities and Municipalities New Suite of Llama Crossing Signs
New sign products created to help prevent future incidents of #llamadrama
PHOENIX, Ariz. (February 27, 2015) – National Sign Plazas, a Phoenix-area wayfinding signage company, announced today that they will be creating a new suite of llama crossing and llama exiting signs in order to help prevent future incidents of #llamadrama.
On February 26, 2015, several llamas escaped from their handlers in Sun City, Ariz., creating traffic jams and complete gridlock throughout the city. Pedestrians and the local police department spent well over an hour trying to capture the rogue animals, who did not seem to have any clear direction on where they should be going and how to properly cross major intersections.
National Sign Plaza’s goal is to help create a unique signage campaign for interested cities that will clearly notify drivers that they are in a “llama crossing zone”, and also help inform llamas where they should be crossing the street. The signage suite could also be expanded to assist other forms of livestock including goats, cows, pigs, sheep and horses.
“Yesterday’s llama escape crippled Sun City, as well as the local and national media,” said Grant Hayzlett, President of National Sign Plazas. “While signage may not be the only solution, it certainly can be a starting point to help prevent these kinds of situations from happening again.”
The new signs will be available for mass distribution starting March 9, 2015. For more information on how to order the signs, please contact the National Sign Plazas’ sales department and firstname.lastname@example.org.
