FAQ

Once the program is installed, how is the program maintained?
NSP not only installs the program to the Department of Transportation roadside specifications, but we fully maintain the program after installation. We inspect every sign plaza on a weekly basis and our maintenance is so thorough, that we even maintain the grounds under the sign plazas.

Our City doesn’t allow signs in our rights-of-way, but we want the NSP program. What can we do?
NSP is a full service company. We have extensive knowledge of sign ordinances and what a municipality can do in order to situate them to allow municipally ordained signage without allowing all forms of signage. A short consultation with our Government Relations specialists can answer all of your questions and concerns.

Are your signs crash tested?
Yes. Our Sign Plazas are fully crash tested to meet the standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation for roadside safety. We incorporate a DOT designed slip-base system in to every plaza we install.

Our City has height restrictions on signage. What can we do?
The NSP program is fully scaleable and customizable; this is YOUR program. NSP works with the municipality in order to provide you with the look and dimensions that you desire.

We have an historic downtown district and we would like the signs to match. Is that possible?
Yes. NSP can provide the solution for all of your municipality’s way-finding needs. We offer pedestrian and commercial programs in addition to our residential development programs.

Can you install signs on state roads?
NSP is continually working with many of the state level Departments of Transportation in order to create a proactive solution to the signage issues that affect your municipality. Unfortunately, we are not currently able to install signs in state rights-of-way, but we can install signs adjacent to them.

We only have a small amount of development. Will the program still work?
The NSP program is fully scaleable in not only the dimensions of the sign plazas, but in the dimensions of the program itself. NSP currently maintains programs that have as many as 90+ sign plazas and as few as 6 sign plazas.

Where is your closest NSP office?
NSP has offices all over the nation and can service any municipality, regardless of your proximity to an existing office. If you wish to contact the office closest to you, call 888.982.1234 or, for a complete listing of our offices and their direct contact information click on the link below.

We don’t allow the homebuilders to use signs, why do we need the NSP program?
The homebuilders in your area derive 60-80% of their new home sales from directional signage. If you want to create an atmosphere that nurtures the growth that comes with new residential development you need to provide the development with directional signage. The NSP program allows you to do just that while maintaining control over how many signs are placed and where.

What happens when our build cycle comes to an end and the program is no longer necessary?
NSP never sells signage to your municipality so that when this situation occurs we can remove the signage, leaving your municipality the way you want to see it; free of clutter.

Can NSP help me revise my sign ordinance?
Yes. NSP has over 10 years of experience working with municipalities and their sign ordinances. From sample ordinances to new language that will help strengthen your entire sign code, NSP has the answers you are looking for.
